Andrea Wolf has worked as a career development leader, coach, consultant and writer in both higher education and corporations. She has expertise in career transition coaching, and career management program development. Andrea has a track record of developing strategic initiatives to build and expand career management programs/resources that target academic and corporate population needs. She is recognized for creative coaching methods which empower individuals at the crossroads of age and stage to find pathways to manage healthy careers.
As Director of the Career Education Center at Simmons College, Andrea oversees a comprehensive career education program and professional staff that serves undergraduate, graduate and alumnae populations. In the 2012 Princeton Review rankings, Simmons was noted for a wonderful Career Education Center. Her coaching focus is for those navigating career transitions at mid-later careers and she teaches an alumnae course on Career Health for Women in Transition. Andrea has also worked as Manager of Career Development at Bain and Company, a global management consulting company where she served as an internal career coach for consultants, and managed the alumni career services program. Prior to that, she was Vice-President of Career Management Consulting at Right Management Consultants where she specialized in career transition, leadership and developmental coaching. In addition, Andrea has over 12 years experience managing and directing the career services office at the Harvard School of Public Health where she built a career center for a large, multicultural population of health professionals ranging from healthcare leaders to research scientists. As a member of the faculty of Continuing Education at Harvard, Andrea has taught career management and communication skills to international healthcare leaders from developing countries. As a writer for the Boston Globe’s Job Doc column, Andrea provided advice on career and workplace issues. She has also appeared on the news and presented at professional conferences on the topic of career management.
Andrea has a B.S. from Ohio State University and a M.Ed. from the University of Cincinnati. She is a certified Career Management Fellow through the Institute of Career Certification International, the highest level of professional certification for career management professionals. Andrea is a former board member of the Boston ACPI and has memberships in NCDA, NACE, International Positive Psychology Association, and Life Planning Network.
